Slovak language tutor for foreigners

Mgr. Miriama Martinčeková

My name is Miriama and I help foreigners feel confident speaking Slovak in real life — not just in textbooks.

Hi, my name is Miriama and I'm a Slovak language teacher.

I love connecting worlds and helping people feel at home, even in places where they are foreigners. I guide you through the process of adaptation — through language, culture, and real-life experience.

What can I offer you?

First of all, my experience — not only in teaching the language, but also in giving you insight into Slovak culture and identity. I teach the language in a practical way, not just through grammar, but mainly through real-life situations, useful phrases, and context.

I understand the reality of foreigners living in Slovakia. The challenging moments as well as the funny ones. I will also share with you the things about Slovak culture that no one usually tells you.

I spent a year living with an American host family as an exchange student and more than 3 years in Spain, so I know what it feels like to be "out of place." In Spain, I worked with immigrants and taught languages to children in kindergarten as well as to adults in afternoon courses.

I understand the process of adaptation, and I also really enjoy working with children — in a natural, playful, and engaging way. I'm also a mom of a 4-year-old bilingual child, so I experience language learning in everyday life.

By learning Slovak with me, you gain a tool that has real value. It will help you integrate, understand people around you, and feel more confident in daily situations.

I'd be happy to guide you through this process step by step, so you can feel more confident and natural.
